Before you meet
Six things worth doing.
- 1Video call first. It takes two minutes and it is the single best filter there is.
- 2Meet somewhere public, in daylight, the first time. Every time, honestly.
- 3Tell one friend where you are going and when you expect to be home.
- 4Arrange your own transport there and back. Both directions.
- 5Nobody who is real will ask you for money. Not for a flight, not for a customs fee.
- 6If something feels off, leave. You owe no explanation and no politeness.
Know the signs
How a romance scam reads.
- They fall for you very fast, and say so in writing.
- They cannot video call. The camera is always broken.
- A crisis appears: a flight, a hospital bill, a customs charge.
- They want to move to WhatsApp or Telegram in the first ten messages.
- They mention an investment that is doing very well for them.
- Their photos are flawless and there are only three of them.
Your photos
Stored encrypted, never sold, never used to train a model. The place, the camera and the date your phone writes inside a picture are stripped on our server before anyone can open it. Your verification selfie is deleted within minutes of the check.
